FROM STAGE TO STORY: THE TIM BATTERSBY JOURNEY

For much of my life, storytelling took place under bright lights, on theatre stages, and in front of audiences around the world.

Long before I became a novelist, I was one half of The Battersby Duo, a family entertainment act founded with my wife, Laura, in 1984. Together we spent decades performing, travelling, and creating laughter for audiences of all ages. Those years provided a lifetime of unforgettable memories, remarkable friendships, and experiences that would later find their way into my writing.

Our journey in entertainment was blessed with many wonderful moments, including Grammy recognition and the privilege of sharing our work with countless families. While the stage was our home for many years, every journey eventually reaches a new chapter.

In 2012, after retiring from touring, I found myself facing a question familiar to many creative people: what comes next?

The answer arrived in the form of a blank page.

Writing novels allowed me to continue doing what I had always loved most—telling stories. The difference was that instead of speaking directly to an audience, I could now invite readers into worlds of mystery, suspense, adventure, history, humour, and imagination.

What began as a single project soon grew into a library of books featuring journalists, detectives, aristocrats, adventurers, time travellers, unlikely heroes, and more than a few lovable eccentrics. My stories have taken readers from the streets of Chicago to the English countryside, from wartime Europe to medieval battlefields, and from cozy village mysteries to international conspiracies.

Throughout every book, I have tried to remain faithful to the values that shaped both my performing career and my life: kindness, courage, friendship, perseverance, and the belief that good can triumph over adversity.

Today, I continue to write from my home in Florida, supported by my wonderful family and inspired by the readers who have embraced my stories. Whether you are discovering my books for the first time or returning for another adventure, I am grateful that you have chosen to join me on this remarkable journey.

After all, every great story begins with a single page.

Thank you for being part of mine.
