THE BATTERSBY DUO

Long before I began filling pages with murderers, mysteries and magnificently peculiar people, my wife Laura and I spent more than three decades performing together as The Battersby Duo.

There were songs.

There were children.

There was laughter.

There were theatres, schools, concert halls and thousands upon thousands of miles on the road.

There were performances at some rather remarkable places.

And somewhere along the way there was even a Grammy Award.

Looking back, perhaps performing and writing were never really two different careers.

They were simply two ways of doing the same thing:

TELLING A GOOD STORY.

MEET THE STORYTELLER

SO... WHO IS TIM BATTERSBY?

British-born. American transplanted.

Musician. Performer. Author. Observer of human peculiarities.

I’ve spent much of my life fascinated by people—what makes us laugh, what frightens us, what we hide, whom we love and the wonderfully ridiculous things we do when nobody sensible is supervising.

Those fascinations eventually found their way into my books.

My stories wander freely through mystery, history, comedy, crime, family, adventure and the occasional bout of complete nonsense.

And after all these years, the most exciting moment remains the same:

A blank page.

A new idea.

And absolutely no idea where it's going to lead.
